Preparedness starts at home

You don’t need
another reason
to worry.
You need a plan.

It’s easy to collect advice. A video here. A supply list there. But when the heating stops and the phone battery is running low, scattered tips are hard to turn into decisions.

The Doomsday Field Manual brings those decisions together. Start with your household, understand the risks, and build a plan you can actually use.

From safe water and food to backup power, medicines, evacuation and recovery, it gives you a practical place to begin—and a reference to return to.

“What would we do first?”
Answer it while the lights are still on.
Know what matters

Everyday needs.
Extraordinary circumstances.

Prepare around the things your household depends on—not a shopping list of equipment you may never use.

Before you begin

A few good
questions.

Is this suitable if I’m just getting started?

Yes. Begin with the household planning chapters and the hazards relevant to you. You can build the plan in manageable steps instead of buying everything at once.

Is this a physical book or a digital download?

This is a digital bundle: a 161-page PDF, an EPUB and a separate fillable PDF planner. The cover is a product visualization; a printed book is not included. You can print the files for your own household use.

Can I use it without an internet connection?

The PDF, EPUB and planner can be used offline once saved to your device. External source links need internet access. Keep current local alerts and emergency instructions available through your household communication plan.

How does the fillable planner work?

Open a saved copy in a PDF reader that supports forms. Test one field, save and reopen it before entering your complete plan. Or print the worksheets and write by hand. Keep sensitive household and medical information secure.

Does it cover more than winter blackouts?

Yes. Alongside blackouts and winter storms, the book covers water, food, sanitation, fire, floods, severe weather, heat, evacuation, health care, pets, travel, recovery and chemical or radiation warnings.

Where does the guidance come from?

The manual includes 129 linked primary sources, including public emergency, weather, health and safety organizations. Guidance was checked October 29, 2026. Source material and official instructions can change.

Does this replace medical advice or emergency instructions?

No. It is a household preparedness reference. Current official emergency directions, instructions for your exact equipment, individual medical care and practical first-aid training take precedence. Call 911 for an immediate threat to life or safety.

Make the plan.
Before you need the plan.

Take the next practical step for the people who count on you.
